We had a great weekend at Diana Lake Lodge in July 2017. We were able to hike in with just day packs. We were amazed by the avalanche debris with hundreds of glacier lilies poking thru. Thank you for clearing the path for us! We arrived to beautiful Diana Lake which still had ice in it as did the nearby tarn. We were treated to nachos and dinner that night. The next day after breakfast was prepared for us and we packed our lunches, we summited The Judge and then hiked Fossil Ridge with breathtaking wildflowers. A long day and then back to a warm outside shower, potstickers and dinner. The outhouse is very nice and the scenery is spectacular. Thank you for a memorable weekend.
What a wonderful opportunity for those who love the back country but need/want a little more.We were a group of 9 ladies between 54 and 75. Some new to the world of “the back country” and some of us prefer not to “rough it” quite so much anymore. The accommodation, although rustic, was clean, comfy and warm. The food was nothing short of gourmet-thank you Dustin. But the most surprising, if you can believe it, was the out house!!!! Right out of a Martha Stewart magazine - functional, clean, odour free and with the most majestic views of any out house I have ever used.Thank you again for sharing your little piece of paradise with us.
Thank you Dustin for an amazing experience. The 9 of us hiked in two different groups, the scenery was breath taking and your attention to detail clearing the avalanche debris along the way was appreciated. To see the last sign stating “Lodge in 300m”, sparked relief and delight. As we came over the last rise and saw your cabin, nestled proudly in the sun and the wilderness and heard the friendly voices.......we knew it was going to be special. Your culinary delights fueled our appetites and the cozy sleeping bunks took us all back to fun times. Some of us sacrificed our weary muscles to Diana Lake with a swim, whilst others enjoyed the lake view and the mountain goats. I would recommend a day hike to the lodge, however, don’t forget to ring ahead to arrange a Lunch Special, or the overnight stay to embrace Mother Nature. Thank you!
We were a group of 4 ladies between 55 and 65 who enjoy the great outdoors, hiking and some backpacking. Having a mountain lodge to hike into allowed us not to “rough it” and, given the uncertainty of fall weather, was perfect for us. As luck would have it - we encountered some rain and sleet on the hike in. But Dustin was well prepared for us, with a cozy warm hut and hot soup waiting for us upon our arrival. The accommodations were cozy, clean, warm and full of rustic charm. The food was plentiful and well prepared. The eggs bennie on our last morning were a real treat. The scenery if beautiful and untouched. We enjoyed our hiking up the Judge and around the meadows and Diana Lake. Dustin was very accommodating for us - preparing the meals and snacks to our schedule and available if we had any questions. I’d highly recommend Diana Lake Lodge for an individual or group get-away.
Diana Lake Lodge is such a great place to relax. The weather gods weren’t with us on the hike in, and we really enjoyed the hot soup Dustin had waiting for us! Lots of hiking options the next day - up the ridge to the Judge, strolling the meadows or just a short jaunt to the tarn. And in the evening we were treated to a serenade from the Kootenay Wolf Pack - amazing!! Great food, cozy lodge and comfy biffy with a view - can’t ask for more. Looking forward to another visit next year. Thanx again Dustin.
